Alison has been married for 25 years and is the proud mother of 3 daughters. She loves adventure, has a passion for the outdoors and enjoys time with family and friends. Alison finds it an honor and a privilege to enter into the lives of individuals and families as their personal stories of strength and perseverance unfold, while together sharing obstacles and successes. Alison treasures meaningful moments; seeing hope in the eyes of a client and a recognition of their own significance.

Alison has remained passionate and focused on mental health and the well-being of children and families throughout her education, training and career. In her undergraduate studies, Alison conducted research as a McNair Scholar assessing the needs of adolescents and families in rural communities which was published in the McNair Scholarly Review. Alison also, conducted extensive research on empirical and evaluative data regarding Restorative Justice and developed recommendations for program and policy planning/implementation. Alison obtained her master's degree in social work through the University of Minnesota Duluth as a Child Welfare Scholar to serve children and families at risk. Alison started out as a case overload worker within the child protection unit at Carlton County Human Services and later provided individual and group counseling to an underserved client population of children in two elementary schools in Cloquet, MN. Over the past 7 years Alison worked as a mental health clinician in the Twin Ports area. Alison has worked with children, adolescents, adults, couples and families struggling with a broad spectrum of mental health concerns such as: complex trauma, mood disorders, anxiety disorders, grief and loss, shame, self-identity, adjustment disorders, anger issues, personality disorders, addictions, codependency, reactive attachment disorder, effects of abuse, life transitions, relationship issues, self-harm and suicidal ideation, spiritual issues and stress management.
